Music embodies a cornerstone of critical thinking as a mode of humanistic enquiry and is a means of connecting with others socially through expression and exploration of identity. My interest in art stems from a fascination of this enquiry and relates to my personal philosophy of art and current practice. I appreciate sound research principles in music interpretation and aim to embed the historical elements of musical culture within lessons. I provide mentorship and guide students to decode and uncover the secrets within music—facilitating potential for independent learning, creativity, expression, and problem solving. Consideration of all music styles and modes of art, including awareness of societal issues, is essential to facilitating learning as something directly relevant to one’s own enjoyment of music.
